Wondering why you're sometimes getting pop-ups when clicking on links asking you to install an app? Then this article is for you!

The reason this is happening is due to a new feature called Smart Link Handling. This is a feature that runs in the background and automatically detects when a clicked link is related to an app that you've added to your setup or an app in the Shift app library. When Shift detects that you've clicked a link that corresponds to one of our supported apps a pop-up will appear asking if you want to install the corresponding app.

If you would like to turn this off all you need to do is follow the below steps:

  • Open your quick settings (gear icon in the top right)
  • Scroll down and click on Advanced Settings
  • Toggle off "Suggest Apps to Install"
